Managerial Awards

The image of Bob Paisley or Brian Clough grinning while clinching a huge bottle of Bell's Scotch was a familiar one from the 1970s and '80s as they racked up Manager of the Year or Manager of the Month awards.

The Bell's (later Barclays) award ran from 1965-1993 and was won by managers of both English and Scottish clubs, but never by a Northern Irishman. Since then we have provided many winners of the top managerial honours in both England and Scotland...
