Biography:
"Germany are a very difficult team to play - they had eleven internationals out there today."
- Steve Lomas

Steve Lomas' playing career ended when he was released by Gillingham in January 2008. Always keen to move into management when his playing career was over, he briefly coached Norwich City's youth team and made his first move into management when appointed to the hotseat at St Neots Town of the United Counties League in March 2009. He resigned at the end of the 2009/10 season, stating his intention to seek managerial experience with a League team. In February 2011 he returned to West Ham as reserve team manager. On 3rd November 2011 he was appointed manager of SPL side St Johnstone on a two-and-a-half year contract. His assistant will be ex-Manchester City and Northern Ireland teammate, Tommy Wright. After two top-six finishes, Lomas left St Johnstone in June 2013 to take charge at Millwall. As an ex-West Ham player he struggled to win over the Lions' fans and he was sacked before the year was out with the team just above the relegation places.
