  • Italian sources suggest that goalkeeper Jack McClelland was replaced by Jack Milligan (Crusaders) at half-time. This would have been Milligan's only cap and made him Northern Ireland's first ever substitute. No corroboration has been found from British/Irish sources. 
  • Glagow Herald lists both Northern Ireland's goals as scored by McParland, the first from a deflection off Maldini.
  • The attendance is recorded as 17,500 by RSSSF and "more than 50,000" by the Glasgow Herald.
