* Many sources have credited Ireland's first goal in the 2-1 win over Wales on 19 January 1914 to Sam Young, it has since been established that Gillespie was the scorer, and that his career total was 13, not 12 as widely accepted.
** Some sources list Bingham as having scored ten goals, but a goal against Spain in 1958 credited to him was more likely scored by Wilbur Cush.
# Some sources list Sloan as having scored only two goals in this match, crediting his second to Jimmy Maxwell.

Have you a section on players who have scored on their debut? I think there has been quite a few, of the top of my head: Healy, McCartney, Mulryne, Magilton, Sproule on his full debut as well and I'm sure there are many more?

Good question! I know that there's got to be loads so I'll look into it and post the results soon.

Great work, thanks for compiling that list. There was a lot more than I imagined. I must say its an excellent resource base you've created here and makes for great reading. Keep up the good work.

Josh Magennis has now scored more Nations League goals, and is in double figures. Steven Davis moved up too.
