Biography:
A versatile forward from the Lisburn Road area of Belfast, Harry Robinson actually began his senior career with Ballymena. Gibby McKenzie brought him back "home" though when he signed for Linfield in 1954. In four seasons at Windsor Park he played mainly for the Swifts, claiming two Intermediate Cup medals and representing the B Division against the Scottish Central League in 1957. He enjoyed a run in the senior team during the 1957/58 season, claiming a Gold Cup winner's medal (following a 1-0 win over Glenavon) and an Irish Cup runners-up medal (after a 2-0 defeat by Ballymena).

In the summer of 1958 he left Linfield for Portadown. His performances at Shamrock Park were rewarded with selection for an Amateur international against Scotland and an Irish FA representative fixture against a touring South African team. At the close of the season he commanded a fee of between £4,000-£6,500 in a move to Fulham.

In 1967/68 Robinson served as manager of Carrick Rangers. He emigrated to Australia in 1968, and quickly starred with Port Augusta United. Although he had a few spells away, he served Port Augusta for around three decades, playing into his 40s, also serving as coach and on the committee.

In 2000 Robinson returned to Northern Ireland, but after a decade at "home" he moved back to Australia where he passed away in 2015 at the age of 80.

From a family of Linfield fans, his father and brother John were both club members. John also played Irish League football for Cliftonville and his son, Harry Junior, played football in Australia.
