Biography:
English-born defender with Arsenal, first called-up to the senior squad by Michael O'Neill in 2019. He then suffered a major injury while on loan at Swindon but was thrown into Ian Baraclough's first starting eleven that drew 1-1 in Romania, despite playing nearly an hour with ten men.
Ballard's mother is from Northern Ireland, and he and Baraclough were familiar with each other from their successful time with the Northern Ireland Under-21 set-up.
