Biography:
Rhys Marshall spent five years with Linfield's academy, before joining hometown club, Glenavon as a 16 year-old. He made his Glenavon debut in February 2013 in a 6-1 Mid-Ulster Cup win over Richhill, while his Premiership debut came that August in a 2-2 draw with Coleraine. He was part of the team that won the Irish Cup in 2014 and 2016. In July 2018 he scored in a 2-1 Europa League win over Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's Molde who also featured Erling Haaland at centre-forward.
Marshall left Mourneview for Shamrock Rovers in January 2020, and was part of the team that won the Premier League that season, but he jumped at the chance to return north after a year, joining Glentoran. He spent three-and-a-half years at the Oval but suffered recurring injuries as the team failed to live up to expectations.
Marshall returned to Glenavon in 2024 where he often played in midfield rather than his preferred full-back role, but retired from professional football in 2025.
