# The country of 
Czechoslovakia was dissolved in 1992 forming two new countries - the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A combined team continued to compete through to the end of the 1994 World Cup qualifiers under the name of RCS (Representation of Czechs and Slovaks). The two nations have since competed completey separately, but the Czech Republic is considered the successor team to Czechoslovakia.

Czechia became the official short-form name for the Czech Republic in 2016. Although the usage is becoming more common, the longer form is still the official name per FIFA.
