Biography:
A forward capable from either of the left-wing berths, Albert Kilpatrick was signed by Coleraine as the cash-strapped Bannsiders were forced to build a team principally from amateurs and locals. It was something of a second chance for Kilpatrick, for he had previously been on the books of Distillery - during which time he had represented the Intermediate League against the Central League and Glasgow - and Linfield - where he played in a Junior international against Scotland.
At the time Coleraine signed him, Kilpatrick had been playing for Municipal Services in the Amateur League. He quickly established himself on the left-side of the attack, adding his "enthusiasm and craft" and figuring regularly among the club's goalgetters. Good form earned Kilpatrick two Amateur caps, and he made his début in a 5-1 victory over England, a record win for the Irish in the fixture.
