Biography:
English-born to Northern Irish parents, attacking left-back Chris Herron won Under-18 caps while with Tottenham. On his release by Spurs he was signed by QPR and he was called into the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad as an 18-year-old in October 2002 for a Euro Qualifier against Ukraine. He had to wait another five months to make his Under-21 debut, in a 2-0 defeat in Armenia, and he retained his place for a 6-2 defeat by Greece a few days later.
After a loan spell with Berkhamsted towards the end of the 2002/03 season, Herron was released in the summer. He drifted into non-league football with Chesham United where, after recovering from a broken leg, he rose to become captain. In 2007 he joined Hemel Hempstead Town and he stayed there for two years before an injury ravaged season with Slough Town. Out of the firstteam reckoning at Slough, he was released to join Arlesey in September 2010, but returned two months later.
