Tommy Aiken was selected to play for Northern Ireland Amateurs against England in 1965 at his homeground in Ballymena. Two years later he made the long dreamed of move to England, signing with Doncaster Rovers. He spent just a season at Belle Vue, playing thirteen games in the Football League.
