Biography:
A contemporary of Fred Horlacher and Alec Morton at Bohemians. Like his teammates, Jimmy Bermingham incurred the wrath of the FAIFS in November 1930 for representing the IFA at amateur international level and was handed a three month ban.

A goalscoring outside-right, Bermingham finished the 1926/27 season as Bohemian's top goalscorer with 23 goals in all competitions. The following season he captained the Bohs to a "cleansweep" of League, FAI Cup, Shield and Leinster Cup.

As well as gaining Ireland Amateur caps, Bermingham also represented the Free State League and played in one full international for the Irish Free State, against Belgium at Dalymount Park in 1929.
