Biography:
A versatile forward, though most at home leading the line, Jim Savage came through junior football to make his Distillery debut on 10th February 1968. He is perhaps best remembered for scoring in The Whites 1971 Irish Cup Final win over Derry City, Martin O'Neill scoring the others in a 3-0 win. That same year Savage and O'Neill also played alongside each other in an Amateur International against Scotland at The Oval. As well as his four Amateur caps he also played for the British Olympic team in their unsuccessful 1972 qualifying series.
