Biography:
An “agile, quick-thinking and determined” goalkeeper, Jack Milligan gained a host of representative honours. In 1959 alone he played for Ireland Amateur against England, for the County Antrim FA against the Sheffield FA and finally in a ‘B’ international against France – all while playing with Cliftonville.

It was after signing as a professional with Crusaders in 1960 that Milligan’s stock rose further. As well as gaining inter-League recognition, he was also included in the Northern Ireland squad that toured Europe at the end of the 1960/61 season as back-up to Jack McClelland. (Milligan is listed in some sources as coming on as a second-half substitute in a match against Italy. If this were true Milligan would then become Northern Ireland’s first substitute!)

By 1964/65 Milligan had joined Bangor and in May 1965 he saved a penalty while playing for the Irish League in a 1-0 win over the League of Ireland.

I didn't know there was a tour at the end of the 1960-61 season. Can't find anything about it.
