Biography:
Jeff Whitley was Northern Ireland's first black player, and an early captain of the Under-21s. His international career was put on-hold following a breach of discipline while with the squad in September 2005. He has since been attempting to rebuild his career after battling drink and drug problems.
..
It was announced that Whitley had been released following Wrexham's relegation from the Football League in April 2008. He remained un-signed through to the following January, though he trained regularly with Wolves who were manged by ex-Sunderland boss, Mick McCarthy. He then signed for Woodley Sports of the Unibond League where he was given a joint role of playing, coaching and running educational seminars. He then finished his playing career with a brief spell at Nothwich Victoria.

Whitley has remained in football, offering the benefits of his experiences to young footballers as a mentor at Wolves' Academy. He combines this role with a day job selling cars.

More to follow.
