At just 19 years and 142 days old at the time of his debut, Billy Lacey was the youngest "Southern"-born player to appear for Ireland.

Player-manager at Cork Bohemians then coached Irish Free State on an irregular basis through the 1930s. Also manager of Bohemians from 1933-38.
