Biography:
John Barry came into the Ireland team as replacement for the unavailable Archie Goodall for an international against Scotland in March 1900. The only Dublin-based player selected for the match, at the time no Dublin-based teams competed in the recently formed Irish League, though by the end of the month the Bohs did feature in an Irish Cup Final defeat by Cliftonville.

Also in the Bohemians side of the era were Barry's two younger brothers, Arthur (who also played in the 1900 Irish Cup Final) and Harte. By the time Bohemians joined the Irish League in 1902/03 it was too late for John.
