Notes:
  • Steven Davis was given the honour of captaining the side to mark his fiftieth cap.
  • Long-time captain Aaron Hughes had announced that he would be retiring from international football at the end of the Euro 2012 campaign. Injury subsequently ruled him out of the squad, denying him what would have been his final caps.
  • Kyle Lafferty's booking was his second of the competition meaning that he will be suspended for the next match.
  • This result meant that Northern Ireland have no chance of qualifying for the Euro 2012 Finals in Poland & Ukraine.
