Biography:
A forward capable from either of the left-wing berths, Albert Kilpatrick was signed by Coleraine as the cash-strapped Bannsiders were forced to build a team principally from amateurs and locals. It was something of a second chance for Kilpatrick, for he had previously been on the books of Distillery - during which time he had represented the Intermediate League against the Central League and Glasgow - and Linfield - where he played in a Junior international against Scotland.

At the time Coleraine signed him, Kilpatrick had been playing for Municipal Services in the Amateur League. He quickly established himself on the left-side of the attack, adding his "enthusiasm and craft" and figuring regularly among the club's goalgetters. Good form earned Kilpatrick two Amateur caps, and he made his d├ębut in a 5-1 victory over England, a record win for the Irish in the fixture.

Ireland Amateur Cap Details:
13-02-1937 England. H W 5-1
21-04-1937 Scotland A L 0-3

Summary: 2/0. Won 1, Drew 0, Lost 1.

With thanks to Jim Murphy for supplying the photo and ISN article on which this profile is largely based.

I'd appreciate that. If you could send it to jcd.nifg@gmail.com that'd be great.
