Biography:
Following his release by Nottingham Forest in May 2010 Sean McCashin joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy, based in Spain, which aims to give unattached young players a second chance in football. As part of a financial arrangement the academy "loans" players to Spanish fourth-tier club, Jerez Industrial and as such their team was made up of mainly British and Irish players. Among the coaches that McCashin worked with in Spain was former Northern Ireland goalkeeping-coach, Dave Beasant.

McCashin returned home in January 2012 to sign for Distillery before joining Glenavon for the following campaign.
