Biography:
Aiden McVeigh was just 16 when he made his debut for Glenavon during the 1999/00 season. Already a Schoolboy international, he earned a move to Scottish Division One side Ayr United, where he enjoyed some success with their youth side. He also added further Northern Ireland caps to his collection at Under-18 and Under-19 level, and featured at the 2001 Milk Cup tournament. He made his only Under-21 international appearance in a friendly against Germany at Windsor Park, coming of the bench, he was unfortunate not to score as his late header was well saved.

McVeigh spent spells on loan at Ards and with Cumnock Juniors before making his Scottish League debut towards the end of the 2002/03 season. That summer however he returned to Glenavon where he became a regular, and sometimes spectacular, goalscorer over the next few seasons. He played with Mid-Ulster sides Dungannon Swifts, Banbridge Town and Loughgall before enjoying his final season at senior level with Donegal Celtic in 2010/11.
