Biography:
The son of Pat Jennings, Patrick Junior had some big gloves to fill. Initially a youth team player at his dad's former club, Tottenham, Pat Jr was also briefly on the books of Wimbledon and QPR while a teenager. Formerly an Under-19 international, through 1998 and 1999 he was a regular in the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad, but was unable to surpass Roy Carroll and David Wells so remained un-capped.
After some time spent playing non-league football in England, Jennings joined UCD. During his time with Ths Students he completed a diploma in Sports Management but left following their relegation from the FAI Premier Division in 2003. He then joined Derry City where he was mainly goalkeeping back-up. Jennings made headlines in September 2006 as he came off the bench in the League Cup Final following the sending-off of Derry keeper David Forde and saved three penalties in the shoot-out win after a goalless 120 minutes.
Derry's regular 'keeper through the 2007 season, Jennings found himself back as second choice in 2008 and joined Sligo Rovers on a season's loan. In July 2010 he signed for Shamrock Rovers as back-up to Alan Mannus. In March 2011 Jennings arrived at on a short-term contract Glenavon during a goalkeeping crisis. After a season with Athlone Town he joined St Pat's as a goalkeeping coach, registering as a player to cover for injuries.
