Biography:
A free-scoring forward, Jimmie Smith moved from Glentoran IIs to Distillery where he made his debut on 2 September 1899. While with the Whites he won an Irish League title, Co. Antrim Shield and Charity Cup as well as representing Ireland and the Irish League.

Smith returned to Glentoran in 1901, and while at the Oval he continued to score regularly and won further Shield and Charity Cup gongs.
