Biography:
Cliftonville's regular left-half for a six year period, David Addis was also a prize-winning swimmer and a proficient sprinter. He won inter-league and amateur representative honours, captaining Ireland Amateurs in a 3-0 defeat by England in 1926. In May 1922 he played in both matches of Ireland's tour of Norway - an international in Bergen and an inter-association match in Kristiania three days later.

In a club career that also saw him feature with Linfield Swifts and London Caledonians, Addis' best season was with Cliftonville in 1922/23 when he claimed Gold Cup and Alhambra Cup winner's medals. In the Gold Cup Cliftonville finished un-beaten in a ten match league-format competition. His only appearance in an Irish Cup final however resulted in a 3-2 defeat by Ards in 1927.
