Biography:
Oldpark FC, from the Oldpark Road area of North Belfast, were founder members of the Irish Football Association in 1880, and ten years later they were founder members of the Irish League too. They left senior football late in the 1891/92 season in protest at the hostility that they had been shown after fulfilling a fixture against Distillery. Distillery, at the time, were being boycotted by a number of clubs unhappy at percieved leniency from the League after the club had fielded an ineligible player earlier in the season.

Only two Oldpark players were ever awarded full international honours, William 'Cutter' Johnston and Robert Muir, both in the same matches, consecutive 8-2 defeats by Scotland and Wales in 1885.
