Biography:
The "Butcher from Ballymoney", Dessie Dickson was the most prolific goalscorer in the Irish League for well over a decade. Signed by Bertie Peacock for Coleraine in 1963, he remained loyal to Bannsiders despite interest from a number of other clubs. In sixteen seasons he scored 439 goals in 609 games.

His goalscoring prowess brought him caps at Junior, Youth, Amateur and Inter-League level, as well as four full caps.

One of the first players to wear contact lenses, with four caps he is Coleraine's equal most capped player with Felix Healy. Dickson was also player-manager at Coleraine in the early eighties during which time the club challenged for the top honours and qualified for Europe.
