First called-up by Lawrie McMenemy in 1999, Stephen Craigan had to wait for Sammy McIlroy to cap him for the first time in 2003, Lawrie Sanchez to make him a squad regular the following year, and Nigel Worthington to award him the captaincy in 2010...

Biography:
After 54 caps, including five as captain, Craigan retired from international football in July 2011 at the age of 34 having been an incredibly passionate and popular member of the Northern Ireland team. He retired from club football at the end of the 2011/12 season and set his sights on a career in the media.

Craigan has remained actively involved in football, joining up with the Northern Ireland under-19 set-up in September 2012, officially being unveiled as assistant-manager the following month. He was promoted to manager in April 2013.
