Biography:
Goalkeeper who lost both his place at Coleraine and Ireland Amateurs to Harry Gregg in the early-50s. He regained his place for the Bannsiders after Gregg moved on to greater things, and was in goal when they lost to Linfield in the 1953 Irish Cup final. He later lost his place to Wesley Ard.
A "larger than life character" Watt later served on Coleraine Borough Council and was involved in the running of the Milk Cup as well as the in the rescue of Coleraine from their financial woes in 2005.
Watt died in 2006 after a battle with cancer. A sports centre in his native Garvagh was named in his honour.
