Biography:
James Dornan was first given a chance in senior football with Glenavon, and was still a relative novice when capped for the first time at inside-right in an amateur international against England. He did himself credit despite the heavy defeat and at the end of the season he joined Linfield. Unable to make an impact at Windsor Park, Dornan moved on after just a season and enjoyed an extended run in the Ards firstteam where he generally featured in the half-back line. Once again he stayed just a season with the club, leaving north Down for north Belfast and Cliftonville. At Solitude he added strong defensive qualities to the perennial strugglers.
