Biography:
A full-back with St. Columb's Court and then Cliftonville, Robert Stewart played in the 1893 5-1 Irish Cup Final with the Reds and also tasted success in the Co. Antrim Shield. In April 1893 he played for the Irish League in their first representative fixture, a 3-0 win over the Scottish League.

Stewart was capped eleven times by Ireland, the first three while with St. Columb's Court and the remainder when a Cliftonville player. He played at both left and right-back at international level and captained his country against Scotland in 1890.
