Blue was Ireland's regular choice of shirt colour for nearly 50 years. 1919-1931 (typically sourced from the Athletic Stores ) (worn by Patsy Gallagher) Shirt designs evolved comparatively slowly in football's early decades. The style shown was the last blue shirt to be worn by Ireland before green was adopted as the first choice colour in 1931. Green shirts were used by Ireland Amateurs and were also available for matches against Scotland. There is evidence that they were also used in other matches.
