The Hereford United Connection

It is always sad when a football club "goes to the wall", and today that fate befell Hereford United. The Bulls ' most famous moment pre-dated their 31 years as a Football League side, and it was a Northern Ireland goalkeeper, Iam McFaul, who clasped helplessly as Ronnie Radford's shot for the then Southern League club helped defeat the giants of Newcastle United in the 1972 FA Cup third round.
