Biography:

In his day-job, Frank Mortished was a policeman of great courage. He was awarded a British Empire Medal for bravery after, at great personal risk, capturing a man who was subsequently hanged for murder.

On the field of Mortished, who stood well over six fee in height, also showed great pluck when leading the line. Described as awkward, but fast and his "occasional touches [showed] that the right idea [was] there." He could "drive a ball with punch and accuracy." His style was compared to that of a young Charlie Buchan, who had possessed a similarly gangly frame.

Previously with Brantwood and Fortwilliam, Mortished rose from Cliftonville Olympic to senior football during the 1924/25 season. His impact was immediate as the Reds' "scoring record went up in most striking fashion, much to the joy of the supporters of the virile club that flourishes at Solitude."

In 1926 Cliftonville claimed their first Co. Antrim Shield win since 1898, hammering Glentoran 5-1 in the final, and the following year they reached the Irish Cup final where, despite a Mortished goal they lost 3-2 to Ards. Mortished was honoured by Amateur Ireland for the only time in November 1927 when he led the line in a 1-1 draw against England at Blackpool.

Biography:
A flying winger, also capable of leading the attack, Kirk Millar rose through the ranks at Linfield to make his debut at the age of sixteen in a League Cup tie against Portadown in December 2008. He joined Oldham as a scholar in May 2009 and signed a professional deal eleven months later having already made his League debut against Brentford on 30 March 2010.

A member of Northern Ireland's Youth teams for several years, Millar appeared at the 2010 Milk Cup and graduated to the Under-21 set-up that September while still just eighteen. He made his Under-21 debut as a substitute against San Marino and he was erroneously credited with the final goal in a 4-0 rout. Millar still remained a member of the Under-19 squad.

Millar scored his first goal for Oldham on the last day of the 2012/13 season, it was the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient. He failed to establish himself as any more than a squad player at Boundary Park and was released at the end of the 2013/14 season. He then returned to Linfield where he is to be managed by Warren Feeney, an ex-Oldham teammate.

Biography:
Son of former Oldham forward Eric Magee, Jonathan first played Irish League football as a teenager with Glenavon then Linfield, two more of his father's ex-clubs. Seldom a regular starter, Magee proved prolific from the bench, but eventually he left for Bangor in search of more regular football. Strong in the air, he hit double figures in his first half-a-season with the Seasiders and also claimed an Irish Cup winner's medal following an epic series of games against Ards. The following season he scored twenty times and was selected by Bryan Hamilton for an Under-21 game with Romania. In the summer of 1993 he also represented British Universities in a tour to the USA and he also represented both Northern Ireland and Ireland Universities.

Also an accomplished cricketer, Magee won the NCU Senior Challenge Cup with Lurgan in 1989.

Dr. Jonathan Magee is now a senior lecturer in Sports Coaching and Development at the University of Central Lancashire.

Biography:
The winner of the Sky One TV show, Football Icon, Carl Magnay's reward was a contract with Chelsea. Eligible for Northern Ireland through his grandparents, a fact alerted to the Irish FA by then Chelsea reserve team manager, Brendan Rogers, Magnay won his first Under-21 call-up in November 2008 but had to wait until the following August to make his debut away to Portugal. A former member of the Leeds United Academy, Magnay has senior experience thanks to loan spells at MK Dons and Northamption. In March 2010 he suffered a major injury during a match for Chelsea Reserves. He left Chelsea at the end of 2011 on the expiration of his contract. He then joined home-town club, Gateshead for whom he was been a regular in the Conference Premier. He was released in 2014 after another failed promotion attempt and joined Grimsby on a one year deal. With the Mariners he was part of the second tightest defence in the Conference and was named in the division's team of the year, however he was denied promotion when the play-off final was lost on penalties to Bristol Rovers. Magnay did however returned to the Football League when signed by League Two Hartlepool.
