Biography:
Elder brother of Willie Hooper, Dick was a prolific goalscorer for Bohemians in the first decade of the 20th Century as the club moved from the Leinster League to the Irish League in 1902. He helped the Bohs to four Irish Cup finals. He scored twice in the 1908 replay win over Shelbourne, appeared in defeats to Cliftonville in 1900 and 1909, but missed out on the 1903 final defeat by Distillery.

Capped in Amateur Ireland's first three matches, he scored their first away goal in a 6-1 reverse by England at White Hart Lane in 1907 and captained the side the following year as the English visited Dalymount Park to record a third successive win.

Biography:
Few families can have produced a half-dozen sons who so excelled at their chosen sports as the Hewitts. Frank (Instonians), Tom (Queen's) and Victor (Instonians) all played rugby for Ireland while a fourth brother, Dick (Queen's) earned an Irish trial. Yet another brother, Willie played rugby and "soccer" with Instonians and Willowfield respectively and earned three Junior caps (1925-1927) before his career was ended by a fractured leg.

It was a sixth brother, Hammie, who most excelled at the kicking game, though he too split his loyalties between codes. He captained Instonians at rugby and played for Ulster at Inter-Provincial level, in his summers he played cricket for Ulidia and as a boy he had been school's champion at the high jump. All this no doubt gave him "the advantages to make good at soccer [he had] good command, speed, and dash and a boot in danger quarters of which any goalkeeper need be afraid."

Hewitt's first introduction to senior football had arrived at the tale end of the 1929/30 season when he led the line in Linfield's Charity Cup success after just a few outings for the Swifts. In the first half of the following campaign he concentrated more on rugby, briefly returning to the Linfield side as they claimed the Gold Cup. It was only in January 1931 that he resigned the captaincy at Instonians and committed himself to a Linfield side that had seen Joe Bambrick sidelined by a serious injury. Although lacking the polish of Bambrick, Hewitt proved an able stand-in and he delivered the opener in a 3-0 win over Ballymena in the 1931 Irish Cup final.

When Bambrick returned from injury Hewitt kept his place in the Linfield team by shifting to outside-right. It was a position to which he was well suited and in November 1931 it was on the wing that he played against England in an Amateur international, retaining his place for the January match against Scotland. Eventually displaced in the Linfield starting eleven by future international, Billy Houston, Hewitt left Windsor Park for Cliftonville.

While with the Reds Hewitt returned to the centre-forward role and regained his place place in the Amateur Ireland side. In April 1934 he was among the scorers as Ireland came from a 0-1 half-time defecit to defeat Scotland 4-1 at Solitude. That same season he was part of the Cliftonville side that surprisingly made the Irish Cup final, exploiting a couple of goalkeeping errors against Glentoran in the semi-final before succumbing 0-5 to Linfield in the decider at The Oval.

The Hewitt clan continued to produce fine rugby players for Hammie's nephews Dave Hewitt, John Hewitt and Gerald Gilpin all won caps for Ireland.

Biography:
Attacking midfielder Ruaidhri Higgins was on the books at Coventry City as a teenager. On his release in the summer of 2004 he joined Derry City for whom he made his debut against Drogheda that November. An attacking midfielder with "fantastic vision and a great range of passing", his good form through the 2005 season saw him called into the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad for an August friendly against the Republic of Ireland. He played the full ninety minutes of a 2-2 draw as Northern Ireland let a two goal lead slip.

Possessor of an excellent shot, Higgins is capable of scoring superb free-kicks as witnessed in a Setanta Cup match against Glentoran in September 2008, but still his overall goalscoring record is disappointing. With Derry he played in two FAI Cup Finals - a 2006 extra-time win over St. Pat's and a 2008 penalty shoot-out defeat by Bohemians. In 2006 he was among Derry's penalty shoot-out scorers in a League Cup Final win over Shelbourne and he collected further medals in 2007 and 2008 following wins over Bohemians and Wexford Youths respectively.

In late 2009, as the state of Derry's mismanagement became clear, all of their players had their contracts terminated. Higgins was one of several players to find himself without pay for several months. During this time he had a trial with Aberdeen which came close to yielding a move, but by late December he looked certain to join Bohemians, managed by Pat Fenlon who had originally signed Higgins for Derry. Even then, that deal was delayed as the FAI took some time to approve the Bohs' accounts.

After a three-season return to the Brandywell, Higgins played a minor role in Dundalk's resurgence as a force in the League of Ireland. He returned to the North-West with Coleraine.

Biography:
English-born to Northern Irish parents, attacking left-back Chris Herron won Under-18 caps while with Tottenham. On his release by Spurs he was signed by QPR and he was called into the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad as an 18-year-old in October 2002 for a Euro Qualifier against Ukraine. He had to wait another five months to make his Under-21 debut, in a 2-0 defeat in Armenia, and he retained his place for a 6-2 defeat by Greece a few days later.

After a loan spell with Berkhamsted towards the end of the 2002/03 season, Herron was released in the summer. He drifted into non-league football with Chesham United where, after recovering from a broken leg, he rose to become captain. In 2007 he joined Hemel Hempstead Town and he stayed there for two years before an injury ravaged season with Slough Town. Out of the firstteam reckoning at Slough, he was released to join Arlesey in September 2010, but returned two months later.

Biography:
Steve Hawe came through the ranks at Blackburn where among his colleagues were Gary Hamilton and Garth Scates. The trio played in the 1998 Youth Cup Final defeat by Everton, but only Hamilton would play a senior game for the club. It was during a loan spell at Blackpool that Hawe made his Football League début  playing in the opening two games of the 2000/01 season.

That same season Hawe spent another loan spell with another third-tier side, Halifax. He made his début for the Shaymen as a substitute against Darlington but was sent-off in his next game, a 2-0 FA Cup defeat by non-league Gateshead and he was in-and-out of the team through to the expiration of his loan deal in February.

Previously a regular in Northern Ireland's Youth and Schoolboy teams, Hawe made the step-up to Under-21 level in March 2001. Normally a central defender, he played at right-back in a 2-0 Euro qualifier defeat by the Czech Republic in Ballymena. He won a second cap that June in the reverse fixture, coming on for Shaun Holmes during a 4-0 defeat in Prague.

Biography:
As a tricky left-sided midielder, Matt Hazley rose though the ranks at Stoke City to make his debut on the final day of the 2005/06 in a 1-0 defeat by Coventry City. He won Youth and three Under-21 caps while at the Britannia Stadium.

After being released by Stoke he played briefly with Stafford Rangers before joining Scottish First Division side, Airdrie United where he normally played at left-back. With Airdrie he came on as a substitute in a penalty shoot-out Scottish Challenge Cup Final win over Ross County. Also in the Diamonds side at the time was former Northern Ireland Youth international, Marc Smyth.

Hazley returned home in 2010 and signed with Newry City. Released after Newry's 2011 relegation from the IFA Premiership, he joined Crusaders early in the following campaign. Having found chances limited at Seaview, Hazley moved on to Dungannon Swifts for the 2012/13 season and topped his season off by scoring an extra-time winner in the Mid-Ulster Cup final against Banbridge Town.

Biography:
Lee Hodson came through the ranks with his local club, Watford and made his debut as a substitute against Derby County on the final day of the 2008/09 season aged just 17. He established himself in the firstteam in the following campaign, earning praise for his consistency and making use of his strength, speed and reading of the game which allowed him to become an effective attacking force. Two-footed, he has played both in his favoured right-back role and at left-back for the Hornets.

Already a Youth international, Hodson was elevated to the Under-21 team while still just 17 years-old to make his debut in a Euro qualifier in the Czech Republic in September 2009. He is joined at Watford by fellow Northern Ireland Under-21s, Michael Bryan and Adam Thompson.

Hodson received his first senior call-up in November 2010 as a late replacement in the Northern Ireland squad to face Morocco. He played the full ninety minutes and acquitted himself well in a low-key 1-1 draw.

In July 2013, Hodson joined MK Dons on a free transfer. He soon fell out of the reckoning for both club and country, but a loan spell at Kilmarnock in the second half of the 2015/16 season appeared to re-invigorate him, and he was a surprise inclusion in Michael O'Neill's Euro 2016 finals squad.

Hodson joined Rangers on a three year deal ahead of the 2016/17 season.
