Biography:
Johnny Flynn captained Northern Ireland's Under-21 side. Transferred from Ballymena to Blackburn in January 2008 after a successful trial, he was involved in Rovers' 2008/09 pre-season programme.

On 16th October 2009 he joined Jim Harvey's Chester City on a months loan, during which time he "impressed as an all round central defender". He made his debut in a 1-0 Conference win over Gateshead and scored his first goal the following week in a 1-1 FA Cup draw with Barrow.

On 27th November Flynn joined Accrington Stanley on another month-long loan deal. He made his debut in a 4-2 win at against Torquay on 5th December. The deal was then extended to the end of the season but disappointingly he made just eight appearances all season.

Also capable as a full-back, despite Blackburn indicating that they had "high hopes" for Flynn's future, he was allowed to leave Ewood Park for Ross County on a free transfer in the early weeks of the 2010/11 season. Although he had never played in the Rovers first team, observers feel that he is "better" than the Scottish First Division.

Flynn never really established himself at Ross County, and he played just seven times as the First Division title was claimed in 2012. He then remained in the Scottish second tier, signing for Falkirk for a nominal fee. Flynn spent the 2012/13 season as a regular in the centre of Falkirk's defence, but was relegated to a back-up role the following campaign. His final appearances for the club where in the Premiership Play-Offs.

In March 2014 it was announced that he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Cliftonville.

Biography:
Capable anywhere down the left-hand side, though mainly a winger, Shane Ferguson is one of the few to have played for Northern Ireland prior to his eighteenth birthday, taking the field for a friendly in Italy in 2009. He has remained a regular in Northern Ireland's underage teams and played in the 2010 Milk Cup Elite final.
..
Ferguson made his Newcastle debut at left-back in an inexperience line-up on 25th August 2010 in a Carling Cup victory at Accrington Stanley. In the next round, again playing at left-back, he set-up Newcastle's opener in a 4-3 win over Chelsea. He made his Premier League debut as a substitute in a 5-0 win over West Ham in January 2011.

Over the following seasons Ferguson's club career stalled, with injuries and loan spells meaning his Newcastle career never really got off the ground. He eventually permanently left St James' Park for Millwall in January 2016, having spent the first half of the season on loan there.

Biography:
Nicknamed the "Golden Child" by Linfield followers, Lee Feeney was rated as among the brightest stars to emerge in Irish League football in the 1990s. His silky skills and enviable passing vision earned him Under-21 international recognition and a dream £100,000 move to Rangers. Sadly, he returned from Scotland having made just a single appearance in his time at Ibrox and he failed to settle in spells back at Linfield and Ards along with several other Irish League sides.

In 2016 Feeney took his first managerial post at Banbridge Rovers.

Biography:
When left-back Tommy Frame joined Linfield on the eve of the 1921/22 season he could not have imagined what his first campaign in senior football was to bring. No Linfield player appeared more times as the team brought seven trophies back to Windsor Park, losing just once along the way. Frame was rewarded early on at representative level, earning selection for Amateur Ireland against England.

Prior to joining Linfield, Frame had played much of his football at inside-left before proving he was more suited to defence, where he was described as "sturdy and strong [and a] grim tackler".

Although Linfield struggled to reach the heights of the 1921/22 campaign through the remainder of the decade, Frame did appear in another two Irish Cup Finals, collect a total of four Co. Antrim Shield winner's medals but just one further Irish League title. He appeared four time for the Irish League between 1922 and 1929 but on each ocassion the team suffered heavy defeats.

In September 1924 Frame was awarded his only cap for Ireland. He was selected to face a touring South African side as the Irish FA decided to select a soley local-based eleven to reduce travelling expenses. The Africans, in what is regarded as their first ever international, recorded a 2-1 win at Solitude despite an early goal from Frank Rushe giving the Irish the lead.

Biography:
Northern Ireland's most capped player at Under-21 level, Sean Friars also captained the team. He played on the wing in the same Liverpool youth team alongside the likes of Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen, but never broke into the first team. In April 1998 he enjoyed a successful trial with Ipswich Town, joining them when his Liverpool contract ended that summer. He made just a single first team appearance while at Portman Road, as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Crewe in November 1999, however, he spent the closing weeks of that season on loan at Portadown and was released in 2001.

After a number of trials and short-term deals, Friars enjoyed a lengthy spells with hometown club, Derry City then Cliftonville. In January 2012 he completed a move to Dungannon Swifts on the same day as his younger brother, Emmet. The pair had previously played together while with Newry.

Currently coaching Institute's Under-20 team.

Biography:
A terrier-like midfielder, Darren Finlay was on the books of Glentoran before moving to England as a trainee with QPR. Sadly he never joined fellow-Ulstermen Alan McDonald and Mark Graham in firstteam action and was allowed to leave after two years at Loftus Road. From there he moved to Third Division Doncaster Rovers. He walked straight into the Donnie firstteam, making his debut on the opening day of the 1994/95 season in a 1-0 win over Hereford. It proved a personally memorable day for Finlay as he was sent-off! He played out the remainder of the campaign as a bit-part player at Belle Vue. A rare highlight in a frustrating season was his goal in a 3-0 win over Lincoln. He did play on the left of midfield for Northern Ireland 'B' against Scotland in February 1995 in preference to former QPR colleague Graham and a young Gerard McMahon of Spurs.

Released once again, Finlay returned to Glentoran in the summer of 1995. He had an up-and-down five seasons at the Oval. He was initially successful, often playing with great effect at left-back, as the Glens claimed the 1996 Irish Cup with a 1-0 Final win over Glenavon. Later however he was to suffer from disciplinary problems and he consequently dropped out of the reckoning under new boss, Roy Coyle, and was transfer-listed in 1997. He did appear spordically and put in some effective performances both in midfield and defence and, considering his lack of height, proved quite effective with his head at both ends of the field. In May 1998, after a loan spell at Distillery, he returned to the Glens team for another Irish Cup Final win over Glenavon.

Finlay left the Oval behind to join Distillery permanently in December 1999. He injected some much needed fight into a team facing relegation, scoring in wins over Glenavon and Cliftonville, but it was not enough as the Whites dropped out of the top-level of the Irish League after a single-season return. Finlay then moved to England, before returning to the Irish League for a month long spell at Glenavon.

Later Finlay became coach at Carrick Rangers under Michael Hughes.
