Biography:
A Gaelic footballer in his youth, Seanan Clucas came through the prolific Dungannon Swifts youth set-up during which time he played for Northern Ireland at Under-17 level. A combative defender or midfielder who excels at tackling and heading, he joined Preston North End on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2009. Clucas was elevated to the Northern Ireland Under-21 team in November 2010, just days after his eighteenth birthday, and made his debut in a 3-1 defeat by Scotland.

Handed a professional contract by Preston at the of the 2010/11 season, Clucas made his début the following August in a Carling Cup clash with Crewe and his League bow a week later against Chesterfield. Later in the season he joined Burton Albion on loan, but was released on his return to Deepdale.

In July 2012 Clucas joined Bristol Rovers. He was again released following Rovers' relegation from the Football League in 2014. He returned home, signing for Linfield. He was released mid-season to allow him to join Derry City. As the Candystripes struggled he was released after just five months, with disciplinary issues cited by manager Peter Hutton, while the player felt he wasn't being played to his strengths.

Biography:
A graduate of Ipswich Town's Academy, Josh Carson has played throughout the Northern Ireland youth set-up before graduating to the Under-21s in November 2010. He made his Ipswich debut in a 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe in March 2011.

Carson played his first senior international matches in the Carling Nations Cup in May 2011. More recently Carson has fallen from the reckoning at Ipswich and spent the latter part of the 2012/13 season on loan at York City who were struggling at the foot of League Two. He played a small part in the Minstermen's eventual survival prior to suffering a broken foot that cut his stay short.

Sidelined by Ipswich manager Mich McCarthy, Carson spent time on trial with Bristol City, Notts County and Hibernian during the summer of 2013. He left Portman Road when his contract was cancelled by mutual consent prior to the closure of the transfer window that September. He had not featured in the firstteam since the previous October.

Nigel Worthington signed Carson for York on a permanent deal in September 2013. He was released following their relegation from the Football League in 2016 and joined Linfield after a successful trial, but left after a single season.

Biography:
Ben Clarke was a right-back "admired for his sterling qualities and solid worth in the [...] rear division". Plucked from relative footballing obscurity with Dungannon, Clarke was put straight into Irish League football by Portadown, a risky move, "but his capabilities had been carefully weighed up, and he never for a moment threatened to let the side down... Clarke rose to the occasion in the manner of a born exponent."

"Full of grit and intelligent in football matters... he kicks with freedom, his positioning is good [and] his clearances are a pleasing feature." It was such qualities that brought early talk of a move to a cross-Channel club, but before that could happen Clarke was twice capped as an amateur international. Eventually he move to Sheffield United, though his career was eventually cut-short by the outbreak of the Second World War.

Clarke's son Godfrey played for Glenavon and his grandson Darren won golf's Open Championship in 2011 as well as many other golfing accolades.

Biography:
A Shore Road lad, Alex Connell was a clever player "who can play with his head as well as with his feet" and was capable as either a right or left half-back, positions he regularly fulfilled both at club and international level.

As a teenager Connell helped 53rd Old Boys to runners-up spot in the Amateur League in the 1927/28 season. He then played a single game for Brantwood at the start of the following season before joining Larne Olympic where he played regularly through to September 1929 when he was truck down by a serious illness. Advised to quit the game altogether, Connell "had the taste" for the game, and by Christmas was back and "treading the turf" with Ballycarry. His form recovered, he was persuaded back to Larne and towards the end of the 1929/30 season he was introduced to senior football and in the following campaign he "rarely had a Saturday off."

After becoming unsettled at Larne, Connell took his enthusiasm to Ards. At Castlereagh Park he started out in his favoured right-half position, but after a few games moved over to the other side with immediate success. He "gave entire satisfaction" to the Ards management and supporters, and was not once absent from the team throughout the campaign. Already a "successful career" was being predicted for Connell, but it was not until he had joined Glenavon that he claimed his first major representative honours, playing three time for Amateur Ireland while on the books at Mourneview. He retained his place in the amateur international set-up while with Ballymena United, taking his cap total to six.
