Biography:
"Wee Isaac" Andrews, a Shankill Road man, was briefly a "Busby Babe" while a teenager. On returning to Northern Ireland he joined Distillery and a year later signed for Linfield as an amateur. He made his Blues debut as seventeen year-old against Ballymena and quickly earned a reputation as a tenacious tackler, indeed he was once called "the Billy Bremner of Ulster". Another fan was Northern Ireland manager, Peter Doherty who said of Andrews: "He is my type of footballer. He has speed, guile, positional sense and tackles strongly."

Andrews really established himself during Linfield's 1961/62 "Seven Trophy" season, playing 18 times and claiming winner's medals in the Irish League, North-South Cup, Co. Antrim Shield. In the decade that followed he collected those medals that had eluded him during that historic campaign. Representative honours came his way in the form of Amateur caps and Irish League appearances.

Biography:
A boiler maker in the Belfast Ship Yard by day, Jim Anderson was the scorer of Distillery's first goal at their new York Park ground on 2nd September 1922 in a 1-0 in over Glentoran. Signed by the Whites from Castlereagh, he made his debut on 29th January 1921 and was an ever-present in the following campaign. In total he played 211 games for Distillery, mainly at left-half though also appeared once as goalkeeper, and won Irish Cup and Gold Cup winner's medals in 1924/25.

The 1924/25 campaign also saw Anderson claim his only major representative honours, featuring for Ireland against South Africa and in an inter-league match against the Football League. He played his final match for Distillery on 18th May 1928 before going on to sign for Glentoran. He spent just a season at the Oval and was far from a regular though he did play in the Charity Cup Final, a 3-3 draw with ex-club Distillery.

Biography:
Raised on a farm near Moira, Paul “Aggy” Agnew impressed on the football field from a young age. He attracted the attentions of a number of English clubs before signing associate schoolboy forms with Bolton and earning schoolboy caps as a contemporary of the likes of Norman Whiteside and Alan McDonald. Back in the Irish League with Cliftonville, Agnew continued to impress with Northern Ireland’s youth team and earned the attentions of Chris Nicholl, then assistant manager at Grimsby Town. He arrived at Blundell Park in November 1983 for a trial, signing as a professional the following February. He remained with the Mariners for over a decade.

Although his early seasons with Grimsby were stifled by a succession of niggling injuries, Agnew found himself usefully employed at both left-back and centre-back. Although he scored only three goals for Grimsby, Agnew is fondly remembered for his equalising strike against Scunthorpe during the 1989/90 campaign that saw promotion from the Fourth Division. At the end of that season he was rewarded with an Under-23 cap, coming of the bench for Linfield’s Noel Bailie in a 3-2 defeat by the Republic of Ireland at Shamrock Rovers, Portadown. That same month he played for a “full” Northern Ireland side that faced Spurs in Danny Blanchflower’s testimonial. In April 1993 he was called into the Northern Ireland squad that travelled to face Spain as stand-in for Steve Morrow who had been injured in the celebrations following that season's Coca-Cola Cup. He was not involved in the match-day squad and came no closer to a full cap.

From such a high spot Agnew was to suffer a frustrating following campaign. While Grimsby won a second successive promotion he was struck down with hamstring and ankle injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances. Still he was an integral part of Alan Buckley’s side that solidified itself in the second tier of English football, and when his manager departed for West Brom in October 1994, Agnew soon followed. He took the captain’s armband shortly after arriving at the Hawthorns, though he was continually troubled by injuries. After forty-one games for the Throstles, plus a dozen for the reserves, Agnew was released at the end of the 1996/97 season.

From there on Agnew drifted into non-League football around the Midlands, a brief spell with Third Division Swansea aside. He held the position of Director of Football at Whittingham FC (a midlands based youth club with links to West Brom) and coached with Sutton Coldfield College’s Football Academy. Outside of football he worked as a driving instructor and with a CCTV company.

Biography:
Cliftonville's regular left-half for a six year period, David Addis was also a prize-winning swimmer and a proficient sprinter. He won inter-league and amateur representative honours, captaining Ireland Amateurs in a 3-0 defeat by England in 1926. In May 1922 he played in both matches of Ireland's tour of Norway - an international in Bergen and an inter-association match in Kristiania three days later.

In a club career that also saw him feature with Linfield Swifts and London Caledonians, Addis' best season was with Cliftonville in 1922/23 when he claimed Gold Cup and Alhambra Cup winner's medals. In the Gold Cup Cliftonville finished un-beaten in a ten match league-format competition. His only appearance in an Irish Cup final however resulted in a 3-2 defeat by Ards in 1927.
