Biography:
(courtesy of John Floyd)
Son of former Manchester United defender, Steve, Alex Bruce currently plays for Hull City where his father is manager.

A controversial selection for the Northern Ireland squad in October 2012, Bruce had previously rejected a Northern Ireland call-up, preferring instead to represent the Republic of Ireland. Having won two friendly caps for the south he became frustrated by his lack of opportunities and agreed a switch to the north with Nigel Worthington in the summer of 2011.

Biography:
Younger brother of Conor McLaughlin.

A member of the St Mary's Grammar side that won the Belfast Senior Schools Cup in 2011.

A regular through Northern Ireland's youth teams, he made his Under-21 debut against FYR Macedonia in May 2012.

Joined the Liverpool's senior squad for their summer 2012 tour of the USA and made his debut in a friendly against Roma.

Received his first senior international call-up for August 2012 friendly against Finland but had to withdraw due to a hip injury.

In January 2014 he joined Championship side Barnsley on an initial one month loan and made an impressive senior debut in a 2-0 win over Blackpool. The deal was called into question when he suffered a hamstring injury, but on his recovery the move was extended until the end of the season.

Another loan deal saw McLaughlin join Aberdeen early in the 2015/16 season. He enjoyed very few firstteam minutes at Pittodrie and returned to Liverpool mid-season as they suffered an injury crisis.

For a period McLaughlin declined to be included in any international squads, leading to speculation that he was about to switch allegiances to the Republic of Ireland. However, on selection for the Northern Ireland squad that toured South America in the summer of 2014 he revealed that he had simply been trying to make his mark at club level. On making his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat by Uruguay he became the first current Liverpool player to earn a senior Northern Ireland cap since Elisha Scott in 1934. He was also joined on the pitch by Conor, making them the 21st brothers to earn full international recognition from the Irish FA.

McLaughlin's injury hampered five years at Liverpool ended when released in the summer of 2016 without making a senior competitive appearance. He then joined Oldham Athletic, managed by Stephen Robinson who had coached him at international level.

Biography:
A flying winger, also capable of leading the attack, Kirk Millar rose through the ranks at Linfield to make his debut at the age of sixteen in a League Cup tie against Portadown in December 2008. He joined Oldham as a scholar in May 2009 and signed a professional deal eleven months later having already made his League debut against Brentford on 30 March 2010.

A member of Northern Ireland's Youth teams for several years, Millar appeared at the 2010 Milk Cup and graduated to the Under-21 set-up that September while still just eighteen. He made his Under-21 debut as a substitute against San Marino and he was erroneously credited with the final goal in a 4-0 rout. Millar still remained a member of the Under-19 squad.

Millar scored his first goal for Oldham on the last day of the 2012/13 season, it was the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient. He failed to establish himself as any more than a squad player at Boundary Park and was released at the end of the 2013/14 season. He then returned to Linfield where he is to be managed by Warren Feeney, an ex-Oldham teammate.

Biography:

A young defender on the fringes of the Celtic firstteam squad, Daniel Lafferty's favoured role is in the centre of defence, but he is also capable at left-back. A product of Derry-based Oxford United, Lafferty has represented Northern Ireland at Youth level and was a member of the Elite team that won the 2008 Milk Cup tournament. He made his Under-21 debut during a mini-tournament in Ukraine during August 2008 and started for an inexperienced B team that lost 3-0 to Scotland in May 2009. On 17th February 2010 he joined First Division side Ayr United on loan until the end of the season. He was released by Celtic at the end of the 2009/10 season and returned home to sign for Derry City.

In January 2012 Lafferty earned a much deserved move back across the water, joining the healthy Northern Ireland contingent at Burnley. He made his Football League debut in a 0-0 draw at Cardiff that March.

Lafferty struggled with injuries while at Burnley and never really enjoyed an extended run in the team. He spent a number of loan spells away from Turf Moor. At the start of the 2016/17 season he joined Sheffield United on another temporary deal, which became permanent mid-season for an undisclosed fee.

In December 2008 Kelly returned to Linfield as a member of their scouting staff. From July 2010 to December 2011 he was firstteam coach at Larne before taking on a similar role at Ballymena under Glenn Ferguson. He left the Showgrounds when Ferguson was sacked in March 2016 and was appointed coach at Glenavon just a few weeks later, but left at the end of the season.

Biography:
David Miskelly made his Under-21 debut in a famous 3-1 victory over France in August 1998 and from that point was marked as a star for the future. Although he won a total of ten caps at Under-21 level, he never made it any further, though he did come close. He received call-ups to both Full (February 2002) and B (May 2003) squads but injury ruled him out on both occasions.

Despite his early promise, Miskelly found firstteam football difficult to come by. He signed professional terms with Oldham as a seventeen year-old but in nearly seven years at Boundary Park was in the shadow of the more experienced Gary Kelly and was released in 2004 after just twenty League outings.

Initially Miskelly joined Portadown on a short-term deal before trying unsuccesfully to make his mark at Macclesfield. In the summer of 2004 he rejoined Portadown on a permanent deal and, aside from some lengthy spells out through injury, has been a regular choice since and in January 2016 played his 400th game for the club.

Miskelly retired mid-way through the 2016/17 season after suffering a number of injury problems. He played his final game against Cliftonville in December 2016.

Biography:
In a ten-year international career Steve Robinson won just seven caps, scant reward for one of the most gifted midfield players appearing in the English lower-leagues.

Released by cash-strapped Luton in May 2008, attempts by Robinson to find a new club were scuppered by injury. He was appointed as the IFA's County Londonderry Performance Coach and then became assistant-manager of Northern Ireland's Under-19 side. In January 2012 he was appointed assistant-manager at his home-town club, Lisburn Distillery.

In February 2012 he was appointed as Northern Ireland's Under-21 team manager on a short-term basis. In October he was confirmed as manager of the Under-19 and Under-17 teams. A re-jig of the underage coaching set-ups saw him take charge of the Under-21 and Under-17 teams from April 2013. In early 2014 he stepped down from his role with the Under-21s to work within the IFA's Elite Development Programme. He retained his post as Under-17 manager and also took charge of the Under-16 Schoolboys side. In September 2014 he also joined-up with the senior set-up as coach.

Robinson (right) with Northern Ireland
assistant manager, Jimmy Nicholl
Robinson left the Irish FA's Elite Development Programme in February 2015 to take up the post of Motherwell assistant manager, he remained a part of Michael O'Neill's senior international backroom team. In September 2015 he was appointed joint-caretaker-manager at Motherwell along with Stephen Craigan. Shortly after returning from Euro 2016 he quit his Northern Ireland role and was appointed manager at Oldham Athletic, but was sacked the following January. A month later he re-joined to the staff at Motherwell and within a fortnight was appointed manager following the sacking of Mark McGhee.

Biography:
Not only did Billy Johnston become the first substitute ever used by Northern Ireland, he also marked his appearance from the bench against Mexico with a goal!

Despite attending a rugby-playing school, Johnston excelled at football and signed as an amateur with Glenavon as a teenager. Even when an established Irish League player he continued to take to the rugby field at any opportunity, turning out for King's Scholars while completing his teacher training.

With the Lurgan Blues Johnston scored 141 goals in around 200 appearances over six seasons, claimed a host of honours and represented Northern Ireland at Under-23 and Amateur level as well as the Irish League. He also won two Full caps before departing for England in 1966.

After qualifying as a teacher Johnston was signed by Oldham Athletic as a possible successor for Jimmy McIlroy. Sadly he suffered a compound fracture of his right ankle in the opening minute of his sixth league outing. He never fully recovered and retired from professional football in October 1968.

Johnston returned to the field of play briefly with Coleraine before joining Crusaders as coach in 1970. He took the post of manager in 1972 and led the club to unprecedented successes through the mid-70s. Later he was also boss Ballymena United, Bangor and at Glentoran from 1985 to 1987.

Biography:
A tough-tackling midfielder, also capable at right-back, Mark Hughes came through the ranks at Tottenham and was a regular in the Northern Ireland at various youth levels. After a brief loan spell with Nortmapton he impressed while on a temporary deal at Oldham where the deal became permanent. Established as a regular at Boundary Park, Lawrie Sanchez included Hughes in the young Northern Ireland squad for the USA tour in 2006. He played in both matches, coming on as a substitute against Uruguay and Romania.
..
Shortly after his return from the US, Hughes, having fallen out of favour, secured an early release from his contract at Oldham. Initially signed by Conference South club, Thurrock, he returned to the Football League on an emergency two month loan with Chesterfield in November. Although he scored on his Spireites debut against Gillingham, he was unable to convince boss Roy McFarland to offer him a permanent deal and he returned to Thurrock.
..
Hughes signed for Stevenage Borough in January 2007, but was released the following May. He returned to the Football League for the 2007/08 season with Chester City and in February 2009 he was released to join Barnet. For the Bees he played under Lawrie Sanchez during the 2011/12 season as captain and scored the goal that secured their League status on the closing day of the season against Burton.

Hughes was released when his contract expired in the summer of 2012. He joined non-league Eastleigh. He was then captain at Chelmsford until his release in June 2016.
