Biography:
A product of the same Manchester United youth set-up that has produced the likes of the Evans brothers and Craig Cathcart in recent seasons, Ollie Norwood signed his first professional contract in July 2009.

Already capped at Youth level by England, Norwood switched allegiances to Northern Ireland. He initially played for Northern Ireland in friendlies and minor tournaments, including an Elite success in the 2009 Milk Cup, while awaiting clearance. He made his competitive début in a 1-1 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier against Germany in November 2009, scoring the equaliser with a stoppage time free kick. In May 2010 he starred for Northern Ireland in the Elite Round of the UEFA Under-19 Championship, scoring twice (including another free-kick) in a 2-2 draw with Russia and a penalty to give the Irish a 1-0 lead against Italy prior to an eventual 3-2 defeat.

Norwood received his first senior call-up for the August 2010 friendly against Montenegro. He made his debut as a 64th minute substitute for Sammy Clingan, though by then Northern Ireland were already trailing 2-0 which turned out to be the final score.

Yet to make his United début, Norwood had a loan spell at Carlisle cut short by injury early in the 2010/11 season. In August 2011 he joined Scunthorpe on loan through to the following January. It was during his time at the Iron that Norwood scored his first senior goal, a trademark "belter" in a 2-2 draw with Huddersfield. Another loan spell that season with Coventry saw him play alongside Sammy Clingan but suffer relegation from the Championship.

In the summer of 2012 Norwood announced that he would be seeking a move away from Manchester United, despite the offer of a new contract, as he sought regular firstteam football. He drew interest from several clubs before eventually signing for Huddersfield.

In 2014 he moved to Reading in a reported £1.2 million deal.

Biography:
Tony Kane was involved in a tug-of-war between the IFA and FAI. After representing Northern Ireland as a Youth before gaining caps at Under-21 level for the Republic of Ireland. He was called into the Northern Ireland squad by Nigel Worthington for a match against Sweden in October 2007, and although he never claimed full international honours, he did earn five Northern Ireland Under-21 caps.

During five years on the books at Blackburn Rovers, Kane remained on the fringes of the first team without making an appearance. He did spend loan spells at a number of clubs, including Cercle Brugge in Belgium and at Carlisle United before being released in 2009. He then joined Carlisle on a permanent deal, but made only a handful of appearances for the Cumbrian club.

Kane was released by Carlisle United in January 2011. Cliftonville signed him the following month ahead of interest from Glentoran and Portadown. He marked his Reds debut with a goal in a 2-0 win over Newry City. He moved on to Ballymena the following season, and in November 2012 was part of their Co Antrim Shield winning side.

Biography:
Winger Eric Welsh moved to Exeter City from the famous junior side Boyland in 1959. He made rapid inroads into the first eleven, playing his first match while still just seventeen, and establishing himself in the first eleven before he was twenty. For much of his time at St James Park, the Grecians were struggling towards the bottom of Division Four, and when they were promoted in 1964 Welsh had missed the entire season through injury.

In October 1965 Welsh made the move to Carlisle United in Division Two, and in 1966 he came within a whisker of helping them to top-flight football for the first time in their history. His fine performances did bring international recognition, and with the absence of John Crossan was selected in a re-shuffled forward line for the Home Nations match against Wales in March 1966. He put in a highly accomplished performance, scoring in a 4-1 win in Cardiff.

Welsh retained his place for the two end-of-season pre-World Cup glamour friendlies with Mexico and West Germany. The return to the side of the likes of George Best and Dave Clements limited Welsh to just one further cap, but his total of four still stands as a Carlisle club record. Another season-long injury ruled him out for the entire of the 1967/68 season and on his return he struggled to regain his form of old.

Spells with Third Division Torquay and Fourth Division Hartlepool were followed by a spell playing in South Africa. In March 1977 Welsh joined a struggling Distillery side, then being managed by his brother Roy.

Eric’s brother, Roy, won an Under-23 cap and played Irish League football with Distillery, Glentoran and Ards through the 1960s and ‘70s.

Biography:
First called into the Northern Ireland squad in 2002, Michael Ingham was set for his debut during the 2004 Caribbean Tour only to be ruled out through injury. He had to wait another year for his first cap against Germany in the Irish FA's 125th Anniversary gala match, thus bringing a windfall to Cliftonville due to an add-on clause in the deal that took him to Sunderland six years earlier.
..
Further caps were added to Ingham's collection during the US Tour in 2006 and in a friendly with Wales in February 2007, but he fell out of the international reckoning as he struggled for regular firstteam action in the lower leagues. He was in good form with York City as they reached the 2009/10 Blue Square Premier play-off final and indicated his disappointment at not being considered by Nigel Worthington for an international recall.

In 2012 York finally returned to the Football League, adding the FA Trophy for good measure. Ingham remained in goal as they retained their league status thanks to a late-season push under the stewardship of Nigel Worthington who was a late-season appointment following a poor run of results.

York were eventually relegated from the Football League in 2016. Although Ingham had been offered a new contract with the club he decided to move on. He joined Tadcaster Albion and took a role as goalkeeping coach with the club's owners, i2i Sports.

Biography:
Signed originally as a wing-half by Linfield, Billy Millar was selected as an emergency centre-forward and took to the role like a duck-to-water. So impressive was his form as a speedy and agile goal-getter that he earned the Blues a substantial £1,500 fee when he moved to Liverpool in 1928. Millar's Liverpool debut, against Bury at Anfield on the opening day of the 1928/29 campaign, brought a first minute goal and another in the second half as the Reds cruised to a 3-0 win. Amazingly he played just twice more for the club - in wins over Leicester and Newcastle - before his firstteam career ended after less than two months

Early in 1930 Millar made a cut-price move to Division Three North Barrow. After a 7-0 defeat by Rotherham on his debut, he managed six goals from fifteen games in his first season as the Ziggers finished bottom of the League and were forced to apply for re-election. Things began to turn round from then on, his 25 goals seeing the club finish in the security of 16th place in 1931. The following season he managed thirty goals from thirty games (a club record in League football) and earned the first of two caps for Ireland, thus becoming the only Barrow player ever to win full international honours.

Millar marked his Ireland debut with a goal in a 4-0 win over Wales at Windsor Park in December 1931. He retained his place for the opening Home Nations match of the 1932/33 season, lining out as centre-forward against Scotland at Windsor Park. A fine all-round performance from the Scots left Millar with only a few chances, though still he was "prominent" in attack and unlucky not to score when a shot was charged down by the 'keeper. In the end the the visitors cruised to an easy 4-0 win.

From then on Millar's career began to wind down. He managed just six strikes through the entire 1932/33 season, though he featured regularly for the reserves, scoring 22 times in 19 Lancashire Combination matches. He enjoyed few firstteam chances after joining Newport County in 1933, though he once again excelled for the reserves, tallying 23 goals in his only season for the Division Three South side. A move to Carlisle United saw him feature more regularly, though often on the right-wing.

After a brief spell in Scotland, Millar returned to Ireland in 1935 joining his hometown club, Ballymena. He finished his senior career with spells with several Free State League clubs.
